Super fun and unique place to explore. I enjoyed walking the paved road and learning about the dinosaurs/rocks then heading up the Dakota Ridge trails for more of a hike!
nice little Trail to explore near Denver. Lots of mountain bikers and you're on a paved Road for part of it. But the ridge itself is pretty and there's good views of Red Rocks.
Good trails, even the designated “difficult” parts were pretty easy
There needs to be signs because easy to get off trail and need hiking boots. Very pretty view of Red Rocks
Paved on main road and dirt trail for the ridges the beach off. The trail takes you on the Dakota Ridge which I did not know so did not comeplete the whole trail. Think twice about doing the ridges section of your afraid of heights/dropoffs. Got to see dinosaur prints so that was still cool. Recommend coming before 9:15am at the lastest.
Very dry, little snowy patch towards the end. Not crowded early but started passing a lot of people on the way back. Pretty views of Morrison and red rocks
Perfect weather. The end is snowy and muddy. Need some extra traction.
Well traveled, lots of great views, and the dinosaur tracks are really cool. Pretty snowy and icy for the last hundred yards or so, but otherwise easy to hike.
Nice moderate trail other that the noise from the highway, not muddy today only some small portion of the trail has some snow near the end
3/27/21 Great go to for an easy hike close to Denver. Decent views. The first/last 0.7 miles are on a paved road before you get to Dakota Ridge Trail. Not too many people starting at 8 on a Saturday.
Very cool from a geological standpoint, but the hiking itself is a little too close to a major roadway for my taste.
This is the second time we've done this trail. Lots of people after 10 am. Glad we got here early. Adherence to mask wearing is mixed and pretty low. Nice views of Red Rocks.
