Short and mostly easy 0.9 mile loop. Perfect for kids 3 and 6. A bit dull for the adults but nice enough for a short outing.

A short, easy hike. There was some snow/ice on the trail but they were not a problem for us.

From the kiosk starting point, take the left side trail as this is more rugged and you get to see more things. It loops around into the second, lower trail so you won’t miss anything. Ok, this isn’t quite like scaling Mt Everest but in its short length it’s fun and has some great views and very good instructive signage. But the best part is seeing the dinosaur fossils locked into the surrounding stone. Maybe I watched too many “Flintstones” but I always assumed dinosaur bones just stuck out of the ground, sort of. Nope, the bone is solid stone and the rock around it is just as hard and solid. What’s even more amazing is that paleontologists can identify the animal based on this stone. Either that or they sure can fake it good. Lastly, even though it’s a short hike, wear your hiking shoes anyway as you’ll be walking over a lot of rocks.

Hiked with kids 3, 6, & 6. Perfect for my 3 y.o. to stretch his legs. Daughters were bored, but did enjoy reading information along trail. Views are nice. Great to give kiddos confidence for longer adventures. Would not do again with older kids, but will be on repeat for younger son. Once is enough as there are so many other great trails to explore in this area, but still fun if short on time or looking for an easier hike. Bonus of restrooms at trailhead.

It’s fine. Nothing spectacular but a super simple easy hike. We’ve gone at sunset, watched at the top, and hiked down with flashlights
