We did the eastern most stretch of the trail, just north of Ouray. Very steep climb with narrow trail at first-- a little scary for anyone with a fear of heights. But higher woodland stretches to Corbett creek loop turnoff were great, offering plenty of shade on a hot day. I wish the Corbett loop map was shown on the trail map. Trail sign says it is 6 miles, but we opted out without a map.
