Good trail, lot of exposure so plenty of water and sunscreen a must in hot weather. Also watch out for rattlesnakes, had a close encounter with one today on the trail.

Wow, this was one of the fun trails I've done in the past! Unfortunately my phone died while I was recording. The weather was perfect for it, (72F, cloudy) so we were able to handle 90% no share trail was not too bad.

This ridge walk should definitely be rated ‘Easy’ rather than Moderate. Completed it in under 2 hours... great views and a mostly flat, well-maintained trail. Would be good for trail running.

Was very scenic and pretty and close to the city. Long enough to get a solid hike in and not overly difficult.

Dakota Ridge side of loop rocky and I-470 in view most of way. Red Rocks side of loop very nice with feeling of being more away from city. Overall good workout and good views

Nice loop, pretty difficult at times. Did it with my dog on a gorgeous early AM during the week, saw 1 hiker and later in the afternoon some mountain bikers. Pretty exposed at times, gorgeous views. It definitely felt like spring.

I liked the hike. Thought it was moderate and not difficult . Wonderful views. The downside is that it is quite busy and has quite a few mountain bikers

Started in the park on the Morrison trail and went all the way around going on Dakota ridge trail. This is a good somewhat difficult hike. going up Dakota ridge was the hardest part. the rest of the hike was fairly easy. I took just over two hours to do the whole loop.

I did the Dakota ridge section of this loop. Very great hike— challenging with beautiful views. I probably wouldn’t do this on a nice weekend as it is full of mountain bikers that often just come barreling through without notice.

Great trail!! Did it in about 5 hours including lunch on the trail. Was very crowded once you get on the red rocks trail but wasn’t too bad. Really have to look out for the mountain bikes though cause there were a lot. Overall great trail during the winter and not much mud or snow.

Liked that it was gradual up and down for most of it.

This hike really is a great find for those days when you only have a few hours available, but that proximity to Denver does mean crowds, even in January. Thankfully, the dog owners seem to be fairly good about picking up after their pets and the mountain bikers, though numerous, were considerate. I didn't find the highway noise terribly noticeable, and it's really only about a quarter of the time that you're directly overlooking E470 anyway. So there are downsides to this one, but there are also plenty of beautiful overlooks, it loops, and it's a very easy drive from Denver. I'd recommend parking on the south end of the loop (if there are spots available) to end your hike downhill.

It was an okay hike. On Dakota Ridge, you're hiking not too far from the highway, and in Red Rocks, you cross the road multiple times and it's pretty crowded ... so it's definitely not a hike if you want solitude. There were less people on Dakota Ridge than Red Rocks, unsurprisingly.

Minimal protection from the wind.

Difficult and fun hike! If you want a little less pain, go left from Zorro onto Dakota Ridge and do the circuit clockwise. Not a lot of people, but enough to keep us from feeling alone. The view was massive, but all you really see is the city from a distance.

Fun run! Ended up being 9.5 miles, not the described 7.7

Hiked the 10 mile loop of Red Rocks and Dakota Ridge. It was definitely a good view looking west. The trail was a little busy at parts. This trail is dog friendly.

Strenuous hike. You get a variety of views during the entire experience. There's also a large parking lot, but no water fountains unfortunately. Make sure to pack water - most of the hike is in the sun.

Really fun ride! Had to hike the bike up at some points but was worth the ride down. Traffic was moderate but had long stretches without having to slow down or stop. Did see two rattle snakes on the trail, so be observant. Bring plenty of water.

Beautiful views from the top of Dakota Ridge on both sides of the Ridge. The trail is very busy with hikers, runners, and mountain bikers. Only downfall is the highway very close to the trail.

One of my favorite hikes near town. Dakota Ridge trail is rocky and up and down in elevation (and I've learned to wear boots or I come home with a few purple toes!) The red rocks trail is fairly easy-great spot at top to sit a enjoy views-busy trail head with bikes, dogs, runners and I've seen a few rattle snacks on this trail so be safe!

Tough at some points -- had to walk even though I was trying to run the trail. Great workout though and awesome views!

Fun little hike with some cool dinosaur history. Pretty easy so it'd be great for kids too. Just don't go when it rains since some of the rocks can get loose.

Lots of loose rock on this trail. We did not finish due to rain storms coming in but the view before the half way point was still amazing!

Hard! Very hard for someone that is not use to the altitude and out of shape. I made it across the entire top. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen, and wear hiking boots. The views are worth it.
