Very pretty hike, easy but the knee deep snow in spots made it more challenging. Recommended

Surprisingly fun! Not just the grasslands it appears to be. Hiking over the ridge was interesting and more of a moderate hike. Would do it again. Sad that dogs aren’t welcome.

A nice hike, but nothing special. It was a good hike for flatlanders to get accustomed to the elevation and conditions. The view at the end was nice. My wife and I did the trail in mid August in the morning. It was hot and there was no shade, but we knew that from the start. We didn't see or hear any rattlesnakes, but other hikers that we passed mentioned that they did. The climb at the end was the most strenuous, but the overall rating of Easy is appropriate.

Nice walk / hike when you have limited time.

Pretty views. Rocky trail that would take you as long as you want to go. No shade so best to plan for the morning or late afternoon.

It was really over cast today but the temp was great about 60. The trail is well marked and easy to navigate.

Gorgeous view! The top of the ridge is well worth the hike!

This hike had a few areas with decent incline, but the majority of it felt more like a nature walk through open space. So a good hike, but I don’t think I’d do it again, as it just didn’t have a ton of points of interest, I think there are many more beautiful hikes around here!

This is a great, easy trail for people of all skill levels. I cannot stress enough how important it is to stay on the trail; I hiked this trail a few days ago around 6pm there were two rattlesnakes just on the path within the first hundred feet. It's beautiful, but just make sure to listen and watch where you step!

Saw a pair of burrowing owls in a prairie dog field and mule deer galore. Easy hike with great view of the front range.

Fantastic trail, moderate traffic. Entire trail, including loop is closer to 7 miles. About 3hrs with breaks.

This trail is great for beginners or an easy hour run. Mid-day can get you a bit sweaty, morning would be gorgeous. Lots of prairie dogs and bird.

awesome hill to hike views are outstanding!

Very flat and straight for the first section of the hike which I found boring and not challenging. When the incline portion of this trail starts it is fun with nice views of the front range. Keep an eye out for bikers and snakes.

Lush and green in spring! I made a movie for this trail with devil's backbone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf54O2VLb_o

Perfect conditions right now. Dry and breezy, just like my humor. Excellent short trail run with a solid mix of flats, gradual slope-age and steep n’ chunky inclines. Also offers opportunities to extend the distance with connection trails around two miles. Families and hardcorians alike will find something here.

Good trail, clear day, not sunny when we hiked, but there is no shade along the trail. Would be a good family hike

One of the best elevation training runs under 5 miles. Lots of elevation gain going up but easy fun on the way down. Run this almost once a week. Good for hiking. Watch out for rattlesnakes.

Lots of deer roaming near the trail and the cabin! No snakes out yet. Starting to get a little greener.
