Upper and lower Copeland Falls are a short easy hike less than half a mile in. Calypso Cascades is about 2 miles in and is slightly more uphill. Both are beautiful!! We arrived at the trailhead about 3:30pm and there were several spots to park. If you hike past Calypso Cascades about another mile you'll find Ouzel Falls. Much steeper and took about another hour up. Beautiful!! Took us about 3.5 hours round trip.

WE ARE GOING AGAIN! Do I need to say more. Great trail. VERY busy, but that is to be expected in RMNP. The trail gets warm by midmorning so start early.

Beautiful trail in Park. Falls, trees lots of boulders. Be aware no cell service in area so have a map if not familiar w roads. Drive up 7 from Lyons is gorgeous!

Beautiful hike, with the upper and lower Copeland Falls close to the trailhead. Calypso Cascades at the end are fantastic. Be aware that if you arrive later in the morning, you will likely have to park in the lot 1 mile from the trailhead.

The hike is stunning. Waterfall after waterfall and pretty easy the entire time. Calypso cascades is incredible and pictures don’t do it justice. Completed early June. No snow problems.

Quite icy. Had snowshoes but only needed them to deal with the ice.

Loved exploring this snowy wonderland today. My waterproof hiking boots carried me through just fine- definitely a little slippery though around some of the turns towards the end

Only needed our snowshoes for the last .5 miles of the trail - everything else was packed down enough that our boots were just fine! Otherwise, absolutely beautiful hike.

The road to the Copeland/Calypso/Ouzel Falls trail head parking lot is closed so you will have to hoof it from the parking lot a mile away. Really snowy trail but nothing a good set of waterproof hiking boots cant handle. Copeland falls were starting to ice over and Calypso was almost hidden from the snow.

Amazing hike. Some snow on the ground but nothing dangerous. Kids (7,10) struggled a little at the end but still a good hike. Falls were stunning

Really fun trail with beautiful falls. We enjoyed how close you could get (in) to the falls. This trail does not allow dogs though. Wom wom.

Great trail with nice photo ops of the falls. Only tough place is at the top near Calypso falls. Copeland falls is only .3m from trailhead but still nice photo op.
Small privy at the top. OK for men but women....!?!?

This was a great hike to do with our 4 kids, (oldest is 10 youngest is 5). The trail follows water the whole way which makes it fun. There was a lot of traffic on the path so the only wildlife we saw was a couple hungry chipmunks.

Nice hike to some decent waterfalls. We did this one on the drive up from Denver, which I think made for a great intro to RMNP.

Great hike, not too difficult but you could go for a long time if you wanted to. I have taken two family members here when they have visited and they have both really enjoyed it. Make sure to get here really early or in the afternoon when people are leaving from their morning hike because of parking.

Beautiful river, beautiful falls, beautiful flowers, and beautiful weather. Who could ask for more. Arrive early. We were the first on the trail at 7:30. The trail and lot were both full at 11:00.

Description

Let's start with that the parking is about a mile from the trailhead (it's still early in the season) but that worked out as a nice easy warm-up. My initial intent was to make it to Ouzel Falls but there was still too much slippery snow, IMO, past Calypso Cascades that I turned back. In spite of the snow and sleet that constantly fell, it was a very nice hike! The sound of the North St. Vrain Creek accompanied me all the time (as well as the occasional sound of crushing ice and flopping mud). It was playful going over the little brooks that crossed the trail. Very nice scenery! I have to come back on a sunny day!
