Awesome trails get here early or parking lot will fill up fast. Lots of mountain bikers.

Awesome trail. Definitely not for little kids. I did it with my 9 year old, she struggled but we made it to the top. Get there early because parking fills up fast. There is additional parking at the top but you miss half the hike next to the water. The bathrooms were closed due to COVID so make sure you use facilities somewhere else.

This trail is fairly busy. We hiked up to Gudy’s rest. Beautiful views. We made it with 3 kids & dog. Although if we do it again I think we would just hike to the bridge. 8 miles was a little long for a couple of the kiddos. We loved that this hike followed the stream. Overall good! The kids liked it even though it was long.

Great hike. Nice trailhead, parking and bathrooms. The trail is in good shape. I used All Trails once for navigation. Mountain bikers use the trail too. only caution is they fly down the zigzag trail near the top.

Mixed conditions, most of the trail was dry and enjoyable hiking. A few patches of snow and ice that were tricky to walk across without slipping. There were 10 down tread blocking the trail to navigate across. Worth the hike, yes! But I would. It advise for mountain bikers or young hikers this time of year, trail needs some seasonal maintenance.

Great hike! Definitely muddy, snowy and icy in the low lying and shaded areas. The switchbacks just behind the bridge on the way to Gudy’s rest were particularly snowy, icy and slippery on the steep parts for about 200-300 meters. There was a fallen tree to cross just before the bridge and another just before you reach Gudy’s.

I was only able to make it to the bridge due to time constraints, but the snow is packed down hard. The trail is a solid sheet of ice in some parts (we started at 9 a.m.). Crampons are highly recommended. There is a tree that fell across the trail directly before the bridge.

It is spectacular at the top. A little bit strenuous at times, especially with all the fresh snow, but there is an easy-to-follow trail with hardly any steep areas the whole way through and up. The beautiful views are totally worth it.

Beautiful hike! Set out on 12/4 around 8am. One other car at the trailhead, but not one other person on the trail for the 3 hours it took us. Lots of snow and ice on the trail, but it was well-packed throughout. No microspikes on the way up, but we used them on the way down for good measure and to keep a normal pace. Overall an absolutely gorgeous hike- the river and surrounding plant life coated in snow was amazing, and the views at the top were truly breathtaking. The weather was perfect- a good 30 degrees or so the whole time. Highly recommended for an easy-moderate mid-length hike!!

Really fun scenic hike. The switchbacks at the end are very long so they are pretty easy. I did not think trail was that busy or very rocky. Overall the most challenging part is the distance.

Nice trail. Would’ve been better if less people at Gurdys.
