Weather was perfect but there is still snow down low in the shade. There is one drainage crossing before the bridge that was a little treacherous but still would recommend the hike.

Excellent trail. Did it on March 16th so still a few patches of snow/ice on the ground which made it even more interesting for us Texans. You walk along the creek for about half of the trail. This time of the year had a nice volume of water coming down the mountain.
The view at the end of the trail is amazing. Highly recommend if you are in Durango.

Best day hike close to Durango. First part is along the creek. Lots of shade and moderate terrain. The last couple miles before Gudy's Rest area is somewhat steep switch backs but very manageable. Spectacular views from Gudy's. We hiked in a Friday so it was light traffic but see it getting busy on weekends.

Nice beautiful stroll close to town, there are no hot springs and no waterfalls, atleast not in the first portion to the top. Lots of traffic and bikes on the weekends, but overall it's still a really nice hike along a mountain stream. It'd be worth it to come in the evening and camp as there are multiple backcountry sites, and then do the hike in the morning before the crowds, and in summer, heat arrive.
