This is an off-road driving road. This is not a hiking or biking trail.

Since this trail description was changed to be more accurate, I can give it a better rating. The drive is straight forward and the road is pretty easy to find. It is Forest Service road 262. There are many spurs off the main road which will afford you some amazing picture taking opportunities. Don't forget to have a look at the remains of the Pennsylvania mine.

Giving this five stars because if you drive down it then hike that ridge line you will not be disappointed!! Saw lots of mountain goat up top too.

This was a wild goose chase. This is not an official trail and as such there is no trailhead. This is actually forest service road 262 also known as Cinnamon gulch road. You can drive most of the way to the top. If you try hiking you will probably get mowed down by a jeep or a dirt bike. There were plenty to go around. It is actually a beautiful drive and was very easy in my larger 4x4 pick-up. Once we made it to the end of the road we did search for an actual marked trail. On the way down I spoke with some forest service personnel and they confirmed there isn't one. Don't forget to drive the surrounding roads as there are many old mines with beautiful views nearby. We ended up hiking part of the Argentine pass trail which is just up FR 260 from this spot.

FYI the trailhead is about 3 miles down a dirt road that is "not maintained for passenger cars", so we weren't able to actually hike this trail. Unless you have an off-road capable vehicle or want to hike an extra ~6 miles you might want to try a different trail.

um.. I don't know where the Google maps took us to but it was not this trail. we ended up in a real cool place though that might have been the Montezuma ghost town. there were a lot of campers but 4th weekend, what do you expect.
