This out and back trail was very sunny due to very little shade because of burnt trees. The trail was covered in small gravel so it can be very slippery in the steeper areas. We saw several people fishing in the reservoir but only passed one person on the trail and he was going to a different fishing spot.

One of my favorite hikes!! Very good unique landscape surrounded by views of the reservoir. My brother proposed to his girlfriend here - stunning.

Very pretty, but the water seemed really low, even after a long winter and wet spring. The hiking trail was somewhat eroded in parts - narrow and off camber, but still fun. The trail has quick ups and downs, which get the blood pumping for a few seconds. Lots of wildflowers and cool rock formations.

Hiking

Definitely not the easiest trail due to it splitting off multiple times for anglers to get closer to the river. Some bouldering here and there and a few tough spots. Not the hardest though. You'll run into an area not accessible due to the dam making you back track a few hundred feet to get to the lake. Make sure to bring plenty of water and a few snacks along the way. Good views and a nice spot to fly fish!

First to Review

I went to hike this trail and found it was closed. It is winter time, maybe it is just a seasonal trail?
