No trees blocking today. Started at 7:00 am and saw 3 people (including 2 at the falls). Busy w family groups when I descended at around 9, maybe 30 people. RMNP calls this moderate. Some rocky parts, which seemed harder on descent. Fun hike. Shady first thing but lots of sun on return.

Really enjoyed hiking this with my two boys - 10 and 7 years old - my brother and my parents (both in their sixties). It had good proportions of sunny/shady and reasonable vertical gain.

There were lots of down trees that weren’t the best site to see for hiking but pretty little stream and beautiful falls. The kids loved climbing the rocks and hanging out in the shady area by the falls throwing rocks. We saw marmots and chipmunks but we’re hoping to see moose. We still had a fun time although the kids were quite tired towards the end (ages 9,9, and 7). It took us about 3 hrs and 45 minutes to walk there and back taking lots of breaks and hanging out at the falls for a good bit.

HikingGreat!

Great hike for a family with kids and for folks who think they might not like hiking. Flat, then meadows, then trees, then some up & down, then a bit of a climb to the falls. But so worth it. The falls are gorgeous with plenty of viewing spots & rocks to sit on to enjoy a snack before your return hike. Bonus; All the marmots at play in the first meadow of the hike, plus a trio of young, bull moose both going and returning about a mile from the trailhead. Took us a little more than three hours round-trip with plenty of stops to look at things.

Excellent easy trail, but go early in the morning because it is heavily trafficked with people who don’t hike much. Around mile one, there is a creek and a marsh, where I saw a moose around 6:30 AM in mid June 2020. A bit further along, there is a glade, where I someone moves from a distance and an elk. There are some nice views further along on the trail, but it is more rocky there, and there is very little shade on the whole trail once the sun is high enough in the sky. Pretty warm at 9 AM. Saw columbines.

One of my local favorites. Not too difficult but a good cardio interval workout on the uphill. From the meadows to the rocky uphills to the wooded areas to the falls, amazing all around scenery crossing over several little creeks. Hike up a little from the falls sign and sit at the top of the falls for a rush. Enjoy!

Very pretty at the falls! Went with a five year old and two year old(in a pack 80% of it). The five year old got a little tired at the very end. Loved it! We saw five moose on the way. Lots of sun on the trail, wore short sleeves and shorts.

I forgot to stop the recording when we started driving, so it is longer than it should be. The trail was well maintained, some sand, some rocks. Scenic in places but lots of dead trees too. We were disappointed that we didn’t find a good viewpoint for the falls. The view from the top was beautiful but not of the falls. There was lots of water thundering down. We saw a bull moose in the meadow towards the beginning of the trail.

Beautiful trail. You get to see it all! A river, beautiful raging waterfall and lots of wildlife. The MOOSE ARE OUT! I saw 4 while on this hike today. They seem to use the same trail as we do. Be alert and don’t walk to quickly. You may just come up on a moose walking on the trail coming around the corner. A bull did follow me. Educate yourself on how to behave around a moose before hiking this hike.

This is one of our favorite trails. We hiked it yesterday. They were lots of moose along the trail and someone we passed by said they smelled a bear along the way but we didn’t see that. There were quite a few trees down across the trail that we had to climb over.

clear of snow at least to the Lake Nanita turnoff. 3 cars in the parking lot at 6:40 am on a Friday, very busy mid-day. Trees haven't been cleard yet, but passable.

Open. Dry. Multiple trees over the trail, but no real hindrance. Saw moose and deer. Went the extra mile to big pool. Highly recommend all.

Good steady climb with a good payoff at the end. Starts off pretty uneventful but the falls were worth it.

Trail starts out for 2 mile pretty flat along a meadow. At the private cabin the trail starts to work its way along the mountain side. Cut off to falls is on the right and it is easily missed. Very nice hike with the family. Highly recommend.

Nice hike. Starts out easy but becomes moderate. Sunny in areas. A hat & plenty of water a necessity. Beautiful scenery & waterfalls.

One of my favorite trails I found on my recent visit. Very little traffic and very beautiful scenery on a well maintained path. Totally worth it to get to the falls!

Did this hike today starting at 1000. Hot in sunlit areas. The trail is a mix of sun & shade. A hat is a must. As is plenty of water. This 7.4 mile round trip was on the more moderate side of ‘ the ‘easy’ rating for us 50+ year olds, but others were running the trail, which is in very good shape. Only saw a couple of marmots & squirrels today. Probably best to go in the morning. The falls are a great place to stop & rest and explore. Overall, I wouldn’t do it again tho.

Trail kept in pristine condition. Incline doesn’t start until last 1.5 miles or so. Gets buggy later on in day. Start early and you will avoid the sun!

A bit more exposed than I was expecting and abuts private property in several areas, so dress accordingly and bring lots of water if it is sunny.
