Hike through meadows & forest. We saw great rock formations, there are 2 smaller falls areas before you get to Cascade, we also saw a number of moose on our hike. Thoroughly enjoyed this hike from start to finish.

Overall an easy hike, would be great for kids but as of 5/29 there were still a LOT of fallen trees on the trail that could cause problems for little ones. No snow on the ground as of 5/29 either, but plenty of mud. The view of the falls at the top is pretty, but to get to the good picture spots you have to go off trail into some rougher parts, so keep that in mind!

No snow on the ground to the falls, but very muddy so have good footwear! This was a pleasant and easy hike, but as of 5/28, still a lot of felled trees and that would make it difficult for the kiddos to get over -- entirely possible with the help of adults though. I was surprised as it was Memorial Day weekend, we didn't see a single soul on the trail (we started at 8AM) until we were on our way back. We got to enjoy the falls in solitude for about an hour, it was fantastic!

NOTE: Parking lot is very small and the dirt road going there is quite narrow.

Fun tail. It would be good for kids, unfortunately, as of 5/23/17, a recent storm has felled numerous trees on a trail. This creates an slight annoyance for adults but could pose problems for kids under 4ft.

I hiked this during June of last year. It was absolutely gorgeous and not heavily trafficked. We felt we were the only ones on the trail. Encountered 5 moose during the trip!

Took 5.5 hours out and back with my 4 year old son; only carried him about a half mile or so the whole way. Definitely kid friendly. The pine tree aroma filled the air, and the sun was shining. Be sure to bring a day pack with water and snacks. Saw a mule deer on the way back and about a half dozen squirrels. Fresh bear scat was on the trail about 1 mile from the trail head, but I'm sure we made too much noise to see anything up close.
