Good steady climb with a good payoff at the end. Starts off pretty uneventful but the falls were worth it.

Great hike! First hike of the trip, great for a first day hike!

Fairly easy trial with not much elevation gain. Waterfall is beautiful and was already partially frozen at this point.

Trail starts out for 2 mile pretty flat along a meadow. At the private cabin the trail starts to work its way along the mountain side. Cut off to falls is on the right and it is easily missed. Very nice hike with the family. Highly recommend.

Nice hike. Starts out easy but becomes moderate. Sunny in areas. A hat & plenty of water a necessity. Beautiful scenery & waterfalls.

One of my favorite trails I found on my recent visit. Very little traffic and very beautiful scenery on a well maintained path. Totally worth it to get to the falls!

Did this hike today starting at 1000. Hot in sunlit areas. The trail is a mix of sun & shade. A hat is a must. As is plenty of water. This 7.4 mile round trip was on the more moderate side of ‘ the ‘easy’ rating for us 50+ year olds, but others were running the trail, which is in very good shape. Only saw a couple of marmots & squirrels today. Probably best to go in the morning. The falls are a great place to stop & rest and explore. Overall, I wouldn’t do it again tho.

Trail kept in pristine condition. Incline doesn’t start until last 1.5 miles or so. Gets buggy later on in day. Start early and you will avoid the sun!

A bit more exposed than I was expecting and abuts private property in several areas, so dress accordingly and bring lots of water if it is sunny.

Nice, easy going trail. We completed it in about 2.5 hours, but we also ran some of it. We enjoyed the falls. The parking lot was full when we arrived (1130 on a Sunday), so we had to park down off the main road. Also, be sure to bring sunscreen!

Great level trail without much elevation gain. Pretty exposed to sun during mid day. Falls were pretty and very refreshing.

8/14/19 There weren’t a lot of people on the trail mid-week. It was very pretty and provided some beautiful vistas. Not a difficult hike, I wasn’t sprinting and I completed it, round trip from the Ranger’s station at Monarch Lake Trail Head, in 3 hours and 45 minutes. Spots of shade on the hike but lots of sun overall. I would do it again.

We didn’t see any moose. Very popular trail. Many people out. Trail itself is well maintained. Nice hike but not as much shade as I would of liked. Runs along some private property in the beginning.

Hiked about 1 mile before turning back. Family of moose very close to the trail made us uneasy. Beautiful trail. Road to parking was very muddy and rough- partially one lane as well.

Great hike! Saw bull moose quarter mile into hike. Can get hot as there is not much shade. Falls are awesome!!!

Nice family friendly hike to a decent waterfall. Very hot when sunny. Was a bit disappointed by the falls. They are nice but not spectacular. great place for kids to scramble around and get their feet wet. also saw a bull moose near the beginning of the trail all of which made the trip totally worth it.

Loved this hike and just as the rain started to fall we saw a gorgeous Bull Moose in the valley. Highly recommend this trail.

Awesome Trail with breathtaking scenery! Took our group with kids about 5hrs with a good break at the falls. I wouldn’t suggest this hike for young kids-our six year old gave up about three quarters of the way through. We left at nine and it was pretty cloudy, but on the way back it was pretty sunny the last couple of miles.

We arrived at the trail at 10 am, parking lots were full. The hike to the falls was wonderful, it took about 2.5 hours up and 2 hours down with two kids. Along the way we saw three moose within about 30-40ft in the creek, two on the way up and a third on the way back. The flowers were in bloom and no mosquitos today (although we forced ourselves to use 98% deet). The falls were amazing and a great place to rest and eat lunch on a large rock in the shade and mist of the falls. Highly recommended for pre teen kids.

Nice trail with a nice reward at the end. Beautiful long waterfall. No moose today. We had a nice thunder storm on the way back which made the sunny section of the trail nice and cool.

Great hike! Easy start with rolling hills and a steep finish. Lots of trees and wildflowers culminating in one impressive waterfall. Recommend early start -- the first half lacks shade, so would be rough in the heat of the day.
