Pleasant, easy walk with stunning views. It is easy to wander off a little bit hard to get lost.
Nice short trail with good overlooks into Monument Canyon. The trail gets lost in some sections, but there are plenty of path clearings to continue following the rim of the canyon. The parking lot also serves the visitor center, so there is plenty of parking and restrooms.
May 2019 trip to Southwest, fourth visit to CO, last time was only year ago in summer. Day 10 Was in Grand Junction already 22 years ago. Now first time at monument (Main Goal#11 of trip). Great hike with amazing views on few popular monument rock formations or Grand Junction Valley. At Window Rock you cannot see the rock, unless you move away. From distance is visible small rocky opening beneath overlook.
Easy hike with amazing views, better than the longer hikes (3 and 5 mile) we did this morning
Super easy, touristy trail. Full of big views...wedding canyon, independence monument, kissing couple, praying hands. It’s all open, no shade, some loose rock. If you are sun sensitive like I am, wear a wide brimmed hat/visor. There’s a really cool spot to sit and contemplate, Bookshelf Shelter.
