This hike was my first longer hike of the season and it was great! Arrived on a Tuesday after Memorial Day at 8am to an empty parking lot (which was full when we finished). First two miles had a few rockier spots, but otherwise the trail was quite easy terrain wise. I recommend paying attention to your map as the full beaver brook trail continues past this version. This trail offered some nice isolation on a weekday, only passed a three people on the farther parts, more when you get closer to the trailhead that is part of overlook mountain. There was a wide variety of shady areas, steep hillsides, a small creek or two, and beautiful meadows with nice views of clear creek canyon (I think that’s the one?). Trail is obvious and nice for the most part with a few misleading bits but nothing super confusing. Overall a great front range hike with good views almost the entire time, I’d do it again for sure.

This is a great trail! I had to park at the Mansion and head down lookout trail due to Covid-19 closing the Buffalo Bill parking (no big deal) I got a little over 13 miles in laws than 4 hrs! It is a great trail I can see where people can get themselves into trouble if they are not aware or experienced .. There are some beautiful places to stop for lunch. Loved this trail.

The first 2 miles had some neat rock scrambling and some premium scenery. After that, i believe the terrain to be easy. Not including the first 2 miles, i saw less than 10 people the entire hike during this weekday. However the weekday was a COVID weekday so i'd expect the trail to be even quieter normally..

Great family hike

Longer day hike but the miles aren’t very taxing. A few spurs where it’s easy to head off in the wrong direction but nothing you can’t handle by keeping an eye on the app. Trail was clear of snow so you can leave the spikes and winter boots at home. Trail is narrow in most parts. Given COVID-19, be respectful of heavier traffic areas.

Very icy in a couple of spots. Yaktrax or spikes recommended.

Gonna save this trail for summer since I had to turn around about a mile in because of the snow and ice (in spite of all the warm days recently).
