This is a loop trail from the parking area for Aspen Alley. It goes up on the left for a few miles through forest with no real views. Then it dumps out on Boreas road. Lots of cars and dust and walking on the dirt road. Better to see the road views from a vehicle. Not really close to a good hike for the area.

The Baker’s Tank Trail part of the loop was beautiful and woodsy, and the Boreas Pass Rd part of the loop had amazing views of the mountain range. Saw several campsites along the road as well.

We were thankful for The AllTrails app because we would have turned the wrong way at the one intersection. Feels like more of a bike trail.

It was great, got pretty deep, poles would have been helpful.

We went up Baker's Tank and decided there was just too much postholing, even with spikes, gaiters and poles. Went down the Valero connector to the road, which is dry in the lowest mile. Saw and heard a ton of songbirds, and saw some beautiful hummingbirds on the road. Trail probably needs a few weeks to melt, because at this point it isn't frozen enough for snow gear but still has too much deep snow for anyone without a ton of patience (up to the knee and waist in some drifts on the trail). Definitely cannot be done without poles and boots. Hiked 6/6/19 at 7:30 AM. Probably great in high summer.

Snowshoes through the woods and took the toad back to the parking lot! Beautiful in the winter.
