Lots of road hiking but took chickadee for a shortcut. Good woods on blue sky.

We had a great time on this hike! It was a hard moderate for us. We started the trail clockwise and it was straight uphill for about half of the hike. The views from the top were worth it, the flowers were lovely, and the trail coming down was idyllic (though kind of steep). Two reasons for the 4 stars: 1) half of the hike is on a road that cars use to get to camp sites, so that was kind annoying to have to watch out for traffic and 2) the trail is poorly marked, so we only knew we missed a turn because we had a phone with us and checked it after a bit. We would do this again!

Great hike to do with the family. Easy to locate and park. The first half was in the woods with a steady incline. Second half was higher in elevation and provided great views. Would highly recommend! Took about an hour and 20 minutes to complete.

Very beautiful trail. Good view of the mountains near the top with lots of aspens. Sounds of the creek were always nearby. 4 Star because the trail is difficult to find. Mixed with lots of dirt roads. A map would be useful.

Basic easy trail, it was our first hike with our 7 month old in his hiking pack. Turned out to be perfect. Part sun, part shade. We probably would have gotten lost if we didn’t use the all trails map. Moderately trafficked on Sunday afternoon by hikers and bikers.

Dry trail. Quite a few bikers on the trail, but everyone was very kind and nice. It helps to download the trail map ahead of time as there are a few turns that are all well marked but easy to forget which ones to take. So download the AllTrails map to your phone and you won’t get lost. Really nice views on the dirt road coming back to the trail head.

Shady in the early morning with more sun as you go. After taking the sharp turn (that we missed the first time) the trail winds through the forest with beautiful foliage. It was peaceful (didn’t see a single ATV) and the perfect difficulty for someone getting over knee problems. Would 100% hike again!

The first part of this trail was fine, very enjoyable. The last 60% was on a dirt road used in part by folks pulling 5th wheels. No offense to those guys but not what I want in a hike.

The trail involves walking on a dirt road for a good part of it . I only gave it three stars because it is nothing special, although there is a nice view about half way around. It was good to have the gps to know which way to go at times. It is a good starter hike if you are trying to get acclimated to the altitude.

Beautiful trail once you get .3 miles into it. Road on the way up with a little snow. Trail on the way down was peaceful and shaded. Not too hard

Mostly road on the way up with some decent snowpack. Did fine without krampons. Nice day for this hike. A bit overcast. Really enjoyed this trail. Peaks at a good view of some distant mountains.

I was hesitant to hike this area based on the one review. There was very little dog poop. Good moderate hike. There is a creek that offers an opportunity for good pictures. You can enjoy the scenery as well as get a good hike it.

Still fairly snow covered at this time but that’s not the reason for 1 star. You cannot walk more than 10ft without running into dog poop. There was probably a hundred different poop sites in the .25 mile that we walked. It was disappointing to see that much poop on a trail.
