The road to the trailhead can be difficult for 2WD vehicles. This hike is almost entirely on a gravel road.

Wow! Fantastic waterfall and the lakes were just gorgeous. Lots of great autumn eye-candy. We saw Pika, a beaver, and several Mountain Goats. There were also some really cool old mines and cabins to explore (DO NOT ENTER). Playing at the base of Quandry was thrilling. Climbers could be seen walking the ridge to the peak from the lakes (upper lake sits at about 12,000 ft. or so).

I don't understand why some people feel the need to chase the Mountain Goats up the hill side just take picture of them. Obviously, they are up there to keep their distance from humans at the moment. Someday, someone is going to get butted...or worse - those are stout creatures!

Great short hike, 3.5 year old kid really loved it. Great views! Wish we would have packed a picnic.

Beautiful and easy hike with a waterfall at the end!! Our 11 and 9 yr old loved it. We saw deer and beaver. We had some trouble with the elevation though - most of us got headaches while out there. Sooo many pic opportunities. Definitely worth it!

The trail to the waterfall is mostly all a road. Fun short walk/hike for kids. Beautiful views.

Easy hike around the lake and up to see an amazing waterfall.

Views are hard to beat! A few sections where you have to navigate through large rocks, which made it a little s difficult for some in the group.

Easy and fun hike, a good first hike of the trip for us midwesterners. The drive up was a little tricky in a small car due to the rocky road, but it was definitely still doable.

This was one of my favorite trails I have done in Colorado. Amazing views, easy to find, and a great walk. I agree with the reviews below; keep taking the gravel road until you get to the Lake and once you’re one the trail and you get to the bathtub, keep following the trail that is no longer gravel so you can see the waterfall up close. Once we finished at the lake we drove further up to the dam. More small trails in the other side of the dam. I highly recommend!

Loved the views. The lake is gorgeous and the hike is easy. We took the gravel road up a little farther to the reservoir as well and saw a couple mountain goats

This was a great, very short, very easy hike. Although if you do this one, I recommend you go right on past the gravel roundabout with the old bathtub, and keep going up the trail to the waterfall edge. There were some great views and it didn’t add much distance. We did particularly like the class that the pink flamingo floaty added to the ambiance.

You need an suv or 4wd for this. Drove all the way up there and couldn’t get to it
