Great short trail with fantastic views and open meadows. Great hike if you’ve got younger kids that are “ hikers in training”.

Once you cross the bridge it’s a short walk to the trail head. Your calves will get a work out on this short hike. You’ll come to a fork where you can go to the left up to the summit or to the right for a tiny hike with pretty views. Go up to the summit first and save the shady short trail for last. On a hot day, this place is super hot with no real shade so bring extra water. I agree with other reviewers, there are a lot butterflies on this trail and wildflowers. Kept my eyes peeled for snakes and it took awhile to recognize the buzz was all from insects next to the trail. The view from the top is amazing.

I decided to do this trail because it’s dog friendly and fairly close to foco. The trail was really clean and I was the only one on it the entire time! It is pretty steep, so bring a lot of water especially on a hot day, but the view is nice the whole way up! There’s also more trails at the base and the park where you park is really nice as well.

The trail was ipretty steep, but a short one. The area burned in 2004 and 2012, so it is pretty bare. Nice rock formations, but overall fairly boring. Subsequently hiked to Seaman reservoir. Fairly boring hike, saw 2 deer.

Went on October 10th, most of the snow has melted and leaves parts of the trail a little muddy. There's construction going on the road to get to the trail now too. Very easy hike, did in less than an hour

Hiked this week and part of the trail towards the top is closed (possibly due to damaged trail), so it doesn't loop right now. Nice views at top. Loose gravel and narrow trail in spots near the edge. Wouldn't recommend for families w/ little ones. Nice park below w/ restrooms. 2 other trails nearby - one that goes to the top of a reservoir. Beautiful. Completely silent at the top with the exception of an occasional bird chirping. Only saw a handful of people. Downside....previous hikers with dogs failed to assume responsibility for dog droppings. Never seen so much dog poo left behind on a trail before.

We hiked this trail at the end of April and hardly saw another soul. This is a great short hike with beautiful views at the top.

Great day trip spot. Close to Fort Collins. Nice area to have lunch, walk around in the water with the kids, some great fly fishing holes and easy hiking or walking.
