We were just driving through the area to check out the campground. We ended up walking this trail for about 2 miles. It is gorgeous, full of red sand and trees. Very easy first 2 miles. I will definitely be back to play in the waterfalls!

Had a great time exploring this trail for the weekend! We hiked in from the bottom to the top and back and camped at a couple different spots in between. Trail ranges from loose gravel, to hard packed dirt, to sand so be ready for anything and watch your step! The middle sections are harder to follow but lots of cairns to guide you! I almost took a couple tumbles on the loose gravel but other than that all was well! Great way to spend earth day!!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Love Utah, but also love this place! Huge and beautiful canyons. It’s surprising to find landscapes such as this in CO. Such an amazing hike. Beautiful canyon that echos the sounds of time. It can seem crowded, but hike past the newspaper rock and you won’t see many people. When you get to the main rock art look right to see some petroglyphs that are not vandalized. There harder to find but more beautiful because inconsiderate vandals can’t get there. The canyon is more spectacular then the rock art. It’s huge and inspirational. There is no doubt why folks chose to etch their spirits into the rock. Great place, and great energy. Definitely do this hike. You’ll be happy
You did ;).

Only struggle is the heat midday, but that's what the waterfalls are for! You can hike down to the second waterfall, too. Make sure and try it.

Hiked out to the first petroglyphs. Which was about 3.5mi. it's a super easy hike, trail is obvious, not much elevation gain. Good views of the river, and canyon. Overall fun, enjoyable hike.

We hiked in the 100F weather but swam in 2 waterfall and its totally worth it! The main waterfall is a bit difficult to find but you'll see a rock that's cut in half and then start hiking to the left towards the black canyons

Waterfall was flowing with the recent rain. You have to jump the creek and down climb a cliff to get a clear view.

It was a beautiful hike! Didn't find the waterfall. If your looking for it you need to go the Delta way not through Gateway!! My dogs loved it!

Was VERY disappointed that there was NO waterfall any where near our hiking trail and we hiked 5 miles in. The picture is very deceiving so if your hiking this trail based on its photo, don't. There are beautiful views, however no waterfall.

NICE HIKE. HIKED IN TO THE ROCK WITH ALL THE PETROGLYPHS. THERE ARE SOME WILD ONES ON THE ROCK. NOTICED RAFTERS CAMPGROUND WHERE TRAIL TURNS UP THE CANYON. THE CANYON IS REALLY COOL. VENTURE OVER TO THE WATERFALL AND ALSO DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FALL , BOTH ANGLES ARE COOL VIEWS. MILD AND LEVEL TRAIL. FOR ME THE TRAIL WAS BEST FROM THE BRIDGE INTO THE CANYON. THE WALK FROM PARKING TO THE BRIDGE WAS SO SO, BUT OVERALL A GREAT TRAIL.

Fairly easy trail to hike. Great views. There is a ton of area to explore so a hike can vary in length. The area is home to desert big horn also.
