This hike can be completed year round, though it can be covered in snow after a snowfall. Depending on the time of year, there are creeks and ponds for water.

Beautiful in the snow today. Slippery in places with ice under the fresh snow as you get higher. Totally worth the effort.

It was pretty icy in places (particularly the final stretch) and I was glad I had my micro spikes for the way down. The view was extraordinary with fog hovering over Boulder and rolling into the canyon. It's more challenging in the winter but also a little more fun.

So my phone ran out on the descend, however the hike was fantastic. Born and raised in Louisville kentucky in Colorado for vacation. Bear peak was my first official hike and a fun one at that especially when you take in consideration being hungover and hungry (no breakfast) wearing a 30lb pack. Completed 11/1/2019. When you hit the scramble section, becareful of the ice and snow... it gets tight and you will have to straddle several high points to get to the crest. look forward to doing this again with a full belly and a clear head.

Awesome challenging hike outside of boulder the view from the top is worth the climb. This time of year make sure you wear micro spikes the last 100 yards.

Awesome hike but you better stretch those calfs before hand. First portion of the hike is flat and easy then you have roughly 1.25 to 1.75 miles of agressive elevation climb. Keep an eye on the weather and time of day. Wind really picked up around 2-3pm.
