Bald Mountain provides one of the best views of the Indian Peaks in the area. Bald is closer to the Indian Peaks as it sits west of Sugarloaf. Park at the trailhead below Sugarloaf Mountain and hike to Bald Mountain from there.

Gorgeous day, gorgeous hike! So many panoramic views that just take your breath away. I will say I didn’t realize that the first bit is also a Jeep track, but didn’t run into too many. There is a fair amount of ice and snow, but still very doable with a pair of yak tracks on. I left my poles in the car and wished that I hadn’t in the way down. Still highly recommend this hike!

Tons of off road vehicle traffic until you hit the incline, then it’s very private - and very uphill. View is surprisingly good for Boulder area. Very secluded from other hikers given the location; I was able to let the pup run. Off road traffic was courteous but still very distracting and annoying

Not too sure why this is rated as highly as it is. It’s just a dirt road for ATVs. There were some nice views, but not nice enough to make up for the fact that you’re just on a walk with some motorcycles. I didn’t bother finishing it. Gave 1 Star to even out the average a little.

A pretty flat country road with steep, lose gravel incline for about a mile up and down. Great views and wild flowers.

Very ok. The view from the top is very nice, but the dirt road comprising most of the trip is less than exciting. As other reviewers note, use the map because neither the trail up the mountain nor the way down are well-marked.

Too many vehicles. Keep hearing and smelling vehicles. Great view, but not all the way. Hard to get signal. Some paths are closed. It was difficult to find right way.

This hike was pretty dull. Starting off at Switzerland trail it’s a pretty boring trek until you can reach the incline up to Bald Mountain. This part is where I’d say the hike is more Moderate than Easy with all the loose rocks on the trail. There is a great view on top with a nice open space to relax at. Didn’t encounter any traffic the way up or down the hike.

A good, lesser-known hike. I didn't meet anyone else on the actual trail, and I had the summit ("bald" being an apt description) to myself. Amazing views from the top. Like the other reviews mention, be aware that the first and last thirds of the trail essentially put you on a dirt road trafficked by a fair amount of vehicles.

Great hike. Definitely should be rated as moderate as it’s a fairly steep incline getting to the top. Probably some of the best panoramic views from the top of bald mountain I’ve seen this close to Denver. The first leg of the hike is called Switzerland Trail, then the trail to Bald Mountain is on your right, not well marked and easy to miss. Definitely recommend downloading the trail maps prior.

Hiked on 5/26. Not a terribly long hike with stunning views at the top. Definitely would put this in the moderate/hard category though since there’s a fair amount of incline. Also lots of animals in the area, a sign at the trailhead mentioned elk, moose, mountain lions, etc. We personally did not see any animals, but we saw a fair amount of feces. I would also recommend doing this with Sugarloaf Mountain.

Nice little summit where views are good and you'll have solitude. Main negative is that you have hike some on a dirt road (Switzerland Trail) to make any mileage out of it. of course this means your breathing exaust from passing trucks and jeeps. Sugarloaf is better if your just gonna do one but if you combine them then you can make some decent mileage and gain out of the hike.
