Great trail for viewing Aspens in full color. You can get great photos from the bottom looking back up toward the trail head. This is an easy hike with a well groomed trail that's mostly free from rocks and roots. It's a heavily trafficked and popular with bikes so please keep dogs on a leash for everyone's safety.

A great easy trail that has some beautiful views of the mountains. The trail itself is well traveled and not a lot of rock or roots to worry about. The trail starting from the Ice Rink (Illinois Creek Trail) to the end of Aspen Alley Trail, is approximately 2.75 miles. This is a easy trail but there are gradual climbs and then it levels off in spots. The only downside to this trail is because it is easy and has some great views, it is also well traveled by both hikers and mountain bikes. We went on a Monday and there were plenty of both on the trail. Still would have to say it was worth it, especially if your looking for a quick hike on a nice day. You'll enjoy this one!

Awesome trail! You can park at the ice rink and take Illinois Creek Trail up to the Sawmill Museum where Aspen Alley starts uphill. To shorten your hike, you can also park at the Sawmill Museum off Boreas Pass Road, although spaces are limited. We hiked from the ice rink up to Boreas Pass Road at the top and back down. Be cautious of mountain bikers, Aspen Alley is a popular trek. This is a BEAUTIFUL fall hike full of golden aspens! I highly recommend it to "Fall leaf peepers"!

Starting off of Boreas Pass Road, we found a trail head for Aspen Alley and decided to check it out. The hike was mostly in the shade and mostly down-hill through many aspen stands. We came across many mountain bikers who were all very friendly. There were great views of the Breckenridge ski slopes and a ton of cool, old mining equipment. At the bottom, there was a outdoor self-guided mining museum and you could look at all the old machines. We continued on to another trail that took us to the parking lot of the Ice Rink and got a ride pack to the top to get our car. It would be a lot more difficult to go hike back up!
