Made the mistake of making this my first hike of the year. My legs were not conditioned for the elevation changed and snow/ice. But that is more my mistake. Great hike with a great view at the top.
Decent beginner level hike. Not a loop.
Good incline all the way up. Only 3 miles.
Beautiful trail with a beautiful overlook of horsetooth reservoir.
Overall, a good hike to get the hear rate up. The trail was quite icy on the beginning. It was fine going up but coming down was treacherous. Would definitely recommend poles or cleats or both!
Great trail if you're looking for some good outdoor exercise but don't have a lot of time. 1.7 miles to the summit, basically all uphill.
Love this hike! It's one of my favorites when I want to go for a local hike near Fort Collins. Nice easy trail with spectacular views! Would recommend boot traction cleats for this time of year.
