Take Hwy. 69 south of Westcliff to Schoolfield Rd. there is a sign, Alvarado Campground, follow the road west to the campground.
Very good ski up to Rainbow Trail and then south for a ways. Luckily someone had been up through the snow several days before as it is not marked in winter. No snowmobile activity evident!
This is a nice campground if you want to get a head start to the hikes that start from the trailhead just above the campground. It is a primitive campground with outhouses and no electrical hookups, but there is firepits and tables.
