We actually started this hike from the back country parking lot after hiking Mist Falls in the morning. This added a little over a mile round trip. Overall not a difficult hike, but there are some exposed areas with not much shade. The actual meadow section was closed due to the bridge being out. Semi-buggy, but no where near as bad as Mist Falls. Nice afternoon stroll and waterfall, but overall nothing amazing.

Ok hike, nothing extravagant. The loop was closed off due to damage too.

Pretty easy hike, not much rock in the path for most of the hike. You don’t follow the river for much of it but there are opportunities to get in in slow areas. A couple black bears were seen in the meadow. Only downfall was the bridge was out from high water and half the trail on the other side of the meadow. There was also a lot of tarantula hawks (wasp). They didn’t bother us but it made the hike a little more un-nerving. Just keep an eye out on the shaded areas for small holes where they come out. We ended up just hiking to roads end.

Nice trail A little hot at 4 pm but still very worth it. Many tarantula hawks along the trail, ( I am terrified of them), saw a bear, the waterfall was absolutely amazing, great short hike.

We did this hike from Roaring Rivers on Saturday,7/20. It was a fun short hike for the morning, but you still can’t complete the meadow loop because part of the trail is closed due to flooding.

While it's a scenic walk, most of the trail has been washed out and one can not do the complete loop. There are overgrown poison ivy on the trail so be on lookout. Viewes from the Meadows are spectacular and one should plan to spend time at the small beach

A good portion of the Zumwalt Meadow hike is under water due to Mother Nature rerouting the river. This means you cannot complete the loop. NPS has the bridge part of the trail blocked off for the safety of visitors. This really cuts down on what you’re able to see and that’s why I gave it three stars. I bet it would be a really awesome hike if the trail wasn’t flooded. Please be advised, you will not be a key to complete the entire hike if you decide to check this one out.

Most of the meadow is under water at this point but you can still see it from above. Its fine we saw a much more beautiful and larger meadow in Paradise Valley just before upper paradise camp. That meadow was the best area in Paradise Valley!

Right off we see a large bear with a deer going the opposite direction. Some insects, easy short walk.

Beautiful trail in the gorge by the river. No wildlife sitings, but fun nonetheless!

Loved our hike! Perfect temperature and not too busy. Clearly marked and very easy hike. Huge issue with mosquitoes and flies at the trailhead and continued along the hike

Great short hike. Little elevation. Saw three rattle snakes by the boardwalk in Zumwalt Meadows. Roaring River Falls in Late August does not have a lot of water but still pretty during Golden hour.

Very easy and beautiful hike! Great views from the meadows up at the canyon. I hiked in the meadow and did some scrambling on the big rocks above the river. Would definitely go back again!

This place is beautiful and peaceful! It starts off at a waterfall. Looks a little to dangerous to get in. There are lots of nats and mosquitos since you’re walking along a pretty little river but, my bug spray from Walmart worked just fine. I fell in love with the meadow , there’s a wood walkway that takes you through it. We recorded 6.8 miles because we walked the whole thing and went around a extra loop at the end(by accident). My son is 9, it was his first hike and he did very well! This place is definitely a must see. (Also someone stole my go-pro from the bridge please return it

Such a beautiful hike surrounded by towering granite walls and the sound of the river accompanying us along the way. Very easy walk although we recorded 4.9 miles and 387 ft of elevation. A minor negative were the gnats that seemed immune to bug spray. Highly recommend this hike that all fitness levels can enjoy. 8/4/2018

Caltrans has reopened Highway 180 past Hume that morning, so we decided to drive down to do this hike. Hike is easy and flat. The hike to the Roaring River Falls goes alongside the highway. Lots of bugs on Zumwalt trail. Very beautiful and peaceful hike and not many people on the trail. Highly recommend!
