Nice short hike, the best part is it starts at a winery so you could even plan a picnic at the end of the hike.

More of a pretty walk in a park. Started and finished at the winery, which is great for picnics. Look for the peacocks. Some mosquitos, quite a bit of trail litter and poison oak. Friendly fellow hikers. Brief view of Steven's Creek Reservoir.

It was amazing to hike this trail. We found some pear trees with pears at the beginning. We started hiking around 6pm and found mama and baby deers, cute bunnies, rattle snake, peacocks on the way. The trail was mostly shaded. At the end of the trail there was a creek. It was peaceful to spend sometime listening to the water creek. There is also a picnic spot and restrooms at the end of the trail.

Nice trail, not hard, there’s little shade went in the morning and lot of flies/mosquitoes I don’t know what it was but they were annoying for the first mile of the trail. There are signs letting you know there are Rattle snakes and Mountain Lions I didn’t see none of them only a couple of deer.

Canyon Trail does not loop around to Mount Eden Trail any more as of May 2019. Neither online map nor paper map shows the loop. AllTrails - please update. Otherwise, this route has a good variety of wide and narrow trails, some shades and some 10% grades. Shares parking lot with a winery so you know what you can do afterwards!!

Saw plenty of butterflies including pale swallowtails, variable and North American checkerboards, painted ladies, and California rings. There were some cool wildflowers like columbines and pink pacific starflowers

Creek Trail portion not passable, large creek.

Hike was okay, but very poorly marked. Follow the map!

Change the title. The Zinfandel and Canyon Trails are beautiful but the title is misleading as the mount Eden is only meant for horses, we had a bad experience trying to hike on this equestrian trail. Please avoid mount Eden unless you have a horse. The total hike for people is close to 6 miles.
