A challenging loop meant for experienced hikers.  There are no trail markers and in some places no trail at all. Beware of rattlesnakes and ticks - some bushwhacking in scrub and high grass is involved. 8 creek crossings to get to the Falls and in the wet season, these will be over the tops of boots.  There are also several Nevada Creek crossings on the back side of this loop.  Hike at your own risk. Location is approximately 6 miles north of the north end of Lake Berryessa on remote Berryessa Knoxville Rd.  Parking is just prior to a concrete creek overflow section of roadway prior to MM24.  The hike begins at the green gate opposite the gravel parking area.

Beautiful land. Wear pants- lots of star thistle. Popular hunting area, so brighter colors might be a good idea. We saw lots of black bear scat on the trail, so they are active in the area. . Trail on the back side of the loop was tough going, or completely overgrown. We dropped into Nevada creek bed (dry) for a few miles, but that was overgrown in places too. Trail through the sage brush also required lots of bushwhacking. Beautiful areas though and wildlife was amazing. Deer, quail, raptors and lots of other birds around remaining water holes.
