Pretty much what William says below. Great day hike and you are rewarded with unparalleled views views of the valley, half dome and the Eastern Sierras in the distance when you reach North Dome. Started around 7:15 AM and took my time, stopping along the way for pictures, to take a couple breathers and to eat some snacks, finished at 6:15 PM. I’m in fairly decent shape but this trail is aptly rated as hard. Tons of switchbacks and elevation gain from the valley floor, but don’t let this deter you. Trail from the falls to North Dome was bit hard to find at points because of downed trees but use your eyes and AllTrails and you’ll be just fine.

I'm surprised this one is not more popular! It's a great hike, great view from halfdome, cloudrest, and the valley! I included indian rock/arch - but don't. Not worth the detour despite being so close

this hike was a tough one! like others have said, lots of switchbacks, but the views are amazing and I love how close you get to the falls. :)
