Great hike, a little hard to find the trail at times. But very nice pool at the top.

I really enjoy the hike, however the pools are currently dried up. But other than that its a great hike.

Honestly we really enjoyed this trail. However, it is not well marked at all - mostly because it is over lots of granite slabs. The cairns are few and far between. You really need the app downloaded to steer you in the right direction. For full impact you want to be around when water is flowing. June would be good. The creek was dried up and all the ponds/lakes were stagnant at the beginning of Sept... there is snow on the ground in May. That said, the rocks, landscape, animal's were perfect. There was a lack of people on the trail - which was greatly appreciated... This is the type of trail our family enjoys - hard to find, fee people, lots of rock scrambling, good views. Parking at the trailhead is hard to come by (8am, was already full) Overflow parking of about a mile away. There is an $8 day use fee and you use a credit card for that.

The trail is in a recreation area so it gets crowded in terms of parking and driving to the TH. The trail itself wasn’t crowded at all. You’ll notice a lot of human activity in the area around beginning of the trail. But it eventually opens up to exposed rock areas where you’ll really feel like you’re in nature. The further you venture in, the more you’ll realize how easy (and dangerous) it is to get lost in this area. Taking a star away because I found myself staring down at my phone to make sure I was on track more than actually enjoying the surroundings. So bring a map, water, sunscreen and bug spray won’t hurt. I’m knocking off another star because of the drive in: it’s slow, bumpy, and narrow (for almost 8 miles). And to reach the trailhead once you get to the main parking area, you’ll have to drive down another slow, bumpy and even narrower road for another mile. That plus the $8 fee really didn’t make it worth it at the end. Also, you’ll be lucky if you do find parking at the TH, it was full before 8am.

So gorgeous! I would 100% recommend purchasing the maps otherwise it’s pretty impossible to find. We got there on a Wednesday around 2pm (parking was hard to find. I think people that camp there park in the lot so there’s none for people that want to hike.)... there was no one on the trail and we had the place to ourselves. Water was pretty cold but we still got in. So worth it!

Trail? What trail?! Half the hike has a trail ... half the hike you’re on your own! Pro-tip: Follow the ridgeline, that will take you to the pools and waterfall. Overall a really gorgeous place!

The downloadable map was really helpful. We had to double back a bit from our wrong turn. Once you start noticing the cairns (rock piles) it gets easier. Cool pools at the end that make for nice swimming holes. An eight year old made the trek with us so it's doable with older kids. Bring a hat and sunscreen most of the trail is full sun.

Definitely use the all trails map, very easy to wander off the trail in the rocky areas. Otherwise amazing scenery, great weather, and secluded. 10/10 recommend this trail.
