Nice-enough trail but it dumps you out into the flood control area. You have to walk quite a ways through a barren area and up the road to make a loop. Doing the trail in-out also seems odd. It would help if there were a bridge over the channel where the trail ends.

Doing a double loop. Lots of poison oak trying to grow into the trail

The trail is lovely in parts, but it dumps you out next to the flood control basin, meanwhile bypassing nearby peaks and potential lookout points. Strange

This is a nice short trail with decent elevation gain both ways and it’ll get the heart pumping. The views on the trail were nothing special. And I don’t think I’ll do this one again but that’s just my opinion. Parking at the trailhead was easily found but I hike in this area a lot and know that it fills up on the weekends. I began the hike at 8:15am on a Sunday and finished around 9:45am. It’s very overgrown at this time and lots of spur thistles lining/covering the trail. There were a lot of bugs but they didn’t bother me. I would recommend hiking poles - I was very happy to have brought mine- both for the elevation gain and also to push some of the overgrowth out of the way.

Nice walk. Since it's an out and back trail, you gotta do all the uphill twice. Gets the blood pumping a bit. On clear days, can get some nice views of Glendora.

This trail is a nice little workout. Not too longer, but more like 1.5 miles than 1.1. It starts out with a nice climb, steep but short then it winds alongside the hillside. It doesn't climb to the top, it runs down and dumps out at the Wren Canyon trailhead, along the spillway and the spreading grounds near GMR, not a scenic destination, but at least you have an excuse to climb up in both directions so it's a better workout. Bring big spray. It has a couple of steep climbs but not too much elevation. I rated it moderate, if I can do it anyone can do it.
