Winston peak through Winston ridge. Short distance but great views and a satisfying climb to Winston peak. At the trail head make sure to take a sharp right and use the trail rather than the fire road.

The views from the north side of Winston Peak are incredible. Some of the best in this part of the range. The scramble to the top is steep and the path can be hard to follow if you're not a regular hiker. We extended the hike by continuing down the PCT for about a mile before hitting the peak.

Pleasant hike up to Winston and then a fun run\slide down the North slope. Trail can be hard to spot if you are headed up to Winston from the North side. Around bump 6903' trail becomes a little hard to follow and you must climb over some downed trees. Trail becomes easy to follow again up to Winston Ridge which offers far more superb views than its namesake peak. Great for a quick backpacking trip or to watch the sunset. Will definitely be back.

The inclines for this hike is intense, I paired this hike with the Santa Ana loop and it ended up being around 20 miles. To say the least by the time I got to the peak I was pooped. It's a great workout with great views of the valley and city. It is exciting going through the cloud coverage and being able to look above the clouds for miles.

Really fun backcountry-feel trail moving just off of the PCT. We took it to the peak and continued downward until it intersected with the PCT and then stayed with the PCT from there. Gotta say though, it was amazing going through the Winston Peak trail first and going down the mountain. We didn't cut right but just stayed on the thin downhill trail. Really fun & great views!
