Cool little trail, great views from the top of the loop. There’s a bench near the top that is nice for a snack break. In January, there was a tiny bit of snow. There is a moderate amount of uphill at the start of the trail, but the trail isn’t that long so it wasn’t bad.

The desert view is not a loop at the moment...out and back. However, still lovely!

It was a very wet very windy day, but the hike was still very enjoyable! I imagine there are great views when it’s not dumping rain!

We went the way Ryan King recommended earlier by going counter clockwise to get going uphill at the start. I ended up taking the shorter route down ( Desert View Trail) somehow missing the longer version of this trail (Canyon Oaks Trail). It worked out better to do the shorter version anyway, even though it is only 72 degrees, it felt very hot up there. There was a cool breeze & some shade at times. So all in all it was a pleasant hike, with a great 360 degree view at Glens view....my fitbit claims 42 floors. Someone had gone thru and cut the overgrown plants on the trail ... thank you!

Scenic views the majority of the trail. Taking the trail counterclockwise has elevation gain for the first half of the loop and elevation decline the second half of the loop. Benches and rock rest stops at about 5 spots along the trail. Minimal tree cover.

Overgrown in some places, branches cut back but not cleared in others. Recommend long pants to avoid scratches. Shady parts along the trail, great views at the top.

it was a decent hike. It cost $3 park for the day. Great views throughout the hike. Photos don't really do it justice. The altitude and incline got me breathing pretty heavy at times. I wouldn't mind camping in this area and hitting a couple of the other trails.

Nice views at the top with some benches and a lookout point (Glen’s View). Rocky and overgrown in some areas. Patches of shady areas throughout the trail.

Hiked this with my dog around 10am. First to take it after snowfall. Wow. So beautiful. Heading down was a bit of a slip and slide so I was thankful to have my doggo for extra stability. I saw a lot of bobcat and coyote tracks. Since we were first out we ended up having to clear a bunch of the trail since the heavy snow was bending bush and tree limbs across the path, but we did the hard part! I would say it’s a pretty easy loop, just be careful heading down when muddy and with the snow melting.

Pretty cool views the whole way. I suggest just following the desert view signs. It’s the more challenging and fun part of the hike. We went counter-clockwise from the trailhead. After hitting the peak, coming down the other side is the really fun/pretty part. Great hike and will be doing it again!
