Getting There

The park has a series of trails that branch off a main trail. The views overlook Burbank and LA and are gorgeous. The trails are moderate to difficult, due to steepness in some areas.

plenty of parking space, but only park on the pavement; parking is free.

Take Olive Ave toward the mountains; turn left onto Sunset Canyon Drive than right onto Harvard Road. The park sits on the right.

Hiking

A little narrow and intense in the beginning, but once I got to the picnic tables, easy downhill from there. Wear good traction shoes!! Not many people on the hike, saw at least 15-20 people. Most were either wearing masks or stayed socially distant when possible. Definitely wanna try going up to the big antenna at the very top next time

It was a good workout! Steep and sandy, wear good shoes. The views are amazing. I made it a loop by walking down the canyon road. I saw about 14 people

The first like 7 minutes is kinda tough incline but certainly doable. After that it’s smooth sailing. Scary going down, prone to sliding so be careful.

Hiking

Pretty steep! Not a beginners trail, but manageable with a lot of breaks. Started at 7am, only a few people on the trail, definitely more people on their way up as I made it back down. I didn’t follow wildwood trail, I followed the Vital Trail sign. I think the wildwood trail is good for the first time you do this trail because you get a break at some flat ground with a table near the end. The vital trail is at a high incline. Good work out with some nice views of DTLA and Burbank

Hiking

Short and challenging trail in the North of Burbank. Free parking at the entrance; I walked along Wildwood Canyon road which is paved, steep and shaded. (approximately 0.6 miles in) you’ll get to a small roundabout where the third and last trailhead is. From this point forward, you will lose the shade which was a bummer on this hot fall afternoon! I was planning to hike to the other end of the mountain to reach Willie Mann Memorial Chair, but as the climb was really strenuous and the sun was relentlessly intense, I turned around half way through. On my way down, I decided to exit through the first trailhead to make my hike a loop. It was steep, rocky and slippery (sandy) so proceed caution. 4 out of 5 stars, only because no shade. Otherwise really nice short sweet and beautiful views of Burbank and the Debell Golf Club. Recommended for intermediate and expert hikers

Hiking

Harder than I expected, but I welcomed the workout. Amazing payoff with a wide view of the valley and downtown in the distance. You can also see La Crescenta from up there. I took Wildwood Canyon Rd on the down instead of following the same way I came up. “Rules? Where we’re going there are no rules!” Recommended if you’re up for a schwitz :)

HikingNo shade

Inclined up with no shade, bring water. Be careful going down as it can be a little steep and slippery if not in the right shoes! I’ve done this a dozen times, great workout. I go start at the street by the golf course, make my way up, hike the trail to the towers then take the fire road to make it 7 miles.
