The first two miles are quite boring (paved fire road) but once you get up into the hills it’s really fun to explore. The ridge trails are views for days -Mt. Tam, Angel Island, and the Golden Gate are gorgeous. Also saw two snakes that were like a foot and a half long and one had just eaten - v cool. Also there’s like no shade, definitely wear sunscreen and bring lots of water.

Nice shade for the first part until Mezue, then sunny vistas. Really beautiful even though brown. Nice windy sunny day! Saw a coyote!

The trail is about 50% paved or gravel. The cow trails are slightly muddy but not bad three days after rain. Pretty steep hills. Tough for a moderate but very nice.

Great morning hike! No shade most of the way so best to go counterclockwise if you’re going in the morning. Parts of the trail will be closed 11/4/19-11/8/19 for some trail maintenance. Higher traffic than I’m used to but great workout! Will def come back
