Very rocky, not ideal for trail running. I worried about twisting me ankle a few times.

At the beginning a bit crowded with dog walkers, but it thinned out. Nice trail, good workout.

Love this area. Graham, Dunn, West Ridge etc. are all great trails. It got a bit noisy going up golden spike as you get close to the road and the stables but quiets down again and then Baccharis is a nice alternative to West Ridge for a bit if you want a change of scenery.

“ A nice trail that’s pretty heavily trafficked. It was pretty special in the mist and fog!

We thought we followed the directions correctly however it turned out to be a 7 mile hike for us. This was unfortunate as we truly wanted a beginner, easy family hike. The parking instructions say Skyline Staging Area however the link for directions take you to Roberts Park parking lot by the play structure. This may have been our mistake. We took the trail from the Skyline staging parking lot and not the Roberts parking lot.

RunningRocky

I’m a casual (ie, not super athletic) runner and I enjoyed running this. I walked some bits that were steady inclines, but found the variations in incline enjoyable to explore. There were not too many people, and everyone had their masks on. The paths were clearly laid out, and there were a couple spots to get a nice view. I’d do it again, but this time I’d probably go in the opposite direction that this map directs you to go in so you can end the run headed downhill through some redwoods.
