Great hike. Would not recommend unexperienced hikers. Gradual down hill then a grueling climb to the top. Bring lots of water in the summer. Once you reach the top it’s the best feeling. Definitely a favorite.

The distance is listed at 5.5 miles round-trip, but I'm positive its more than this. PDF Maps(Avenza) gave me a reading of just over 4 miles one way. Either way, its a tough hike, especially after the junction(see uploaded picture with comment)...its all uphill from the junction. Directions: if you're heading towards Prather, make a left at Wellbarn Avenue, and follow this for a few miles until you come to a big gate. Squeeze through a small gate entry, and follow the Wellbarn Road Trail for approx. two miles. At this point you will come to a junction (see upload picture with comment), take the left road to get to Big Table Mountain Ecological Reserve. About a quarter of a mile from the junction, you'll come to another gate (see pic) ...from this point get ready for a tough work-out.
