great!

Trails were all open when I hiked on 6/28/2020. The Way Up trail was fairly busy and parking was a challenge, but Lake Hodges Overlook loop and Equine Incline loop were rather sparse -- maybe 4 other hikers total. Always a great hike.

This is a nice, scenic hike. However, there’s too many trail options to veer off to for me.

it was great, wish we went further but were not prepared.

This is a good trail to take a dog or kids. It has Decent elevation gain and views. Parking fills up on fast on Sundays, but during the week it’s not busy.

Beautiful trail! Nice river! Kinda rocky but gorgeous!!

Gorgeous!! I have done this twice, one when cloudy/misty and once when hot and sunny and will do it again!

1/4/2020 Escondido Creek is at the start of the trail and it’s cool and semi shady going up. As you come over the crest at the top there is this great view of the Olivenhain reservoir and mountains. Beautiful views going up and hiking back down. Busy trail with families and dogs. Trail is rocky. Saw some firefighters hiking as it was a memorial hike for Cory Iverson local firefighter today

Nice trail, well maintained, not at all crowded on a cool Sunday afternoon. Note that if you want to see the reservoir pictured here, it is 2.8 miles round trip. If you’ve made it to the Harmony Grove Overlook - you might as well keep going for the view, it’s not much further, not much additional altitude. As others have said, a great trail to get back into hiking. A little buggy, saw a teeny snake.

Great trail. A bit rocky so tough on the toes when cruising down.

The elevation gain makes it not super easy. But, it's a fairly short trail. I would definitely try it again. Go early since there is no shade.

I've hiked and biked this trail for years (way, way before AllTrails existed) and it's always been my "back-to-hiking" trail. It's a great workout and fast way to get in shape for much harder hikes around San Diego. Coming down the trail is a fun, rocky obstacle course. The trail is very well maintained--which is a good thing... But its great condition also ensures that it's crowded on any given day. The upside is that everyone hiking the trail is polite, considerate, and appears to just be having fun.

As someone who is terribly out of shape and getting back on the hiking wagon, I enjoyed this trail. My lungs never felt like they were going to punch through my chest, but I worked up a sweat and definitely got a great workout. Enough foot traffic to not be deserted and left for a goner if I passed out or fell, but not so many that I’d get annoyed.
