Nice short trail with a view, & some historical plates detailing Mono Indian life and use of the area, along the way. Great overlook of Bass Lake, over grown a bit and the leaves are slippery for those without proper footgear. Steep incline/decline in & out, half mile each way.

This trail has changed from that shown within the app. The difficulty should be listed as moderate due to the incline and the need to climb over fallen trees. Trail is also slippery in some spots mostly due to fallen leaves. Great views of Bass Lake. Great birding!

The trail is overgrown, and we got lost after 20 mins. Trail markers are actually hard to find after the first outlook to lake. My 11 year old and I just turned around. Such a waste of time.

Trail was awesome. We did it as a loop and backwards so there were a few down trees to go over or under but the designed trail was clear and the markers were all good.

This hike is loop which I will explain later. My wife and I hiked this trial in the late afternoon on 7/3/2019. A paved parking lot is provided by the trial head. Mostly shaded in the afternoon made this most enjoyable along with the signs explaining the story of the specific area thru the young Native Americans eyes. The trip up in a counterclockwise direction finds it mostly uphill and narrow. A hiking stick or poles is very helpful. When we reached the top the view of the lake was awesome. You are standing on solid rock and great spot for a picnic. You can find the rest of the loop by turning around and face west and go down to the bottom of the rock. The trail down is to you left or South. It’s narrow, rocky and overgrown but you can the trial. Some trees were down so you need to go under or climb over in spots. You return to the same parking lot. A must do trial if in the area. We would do it again but bring a picnic late afternoon meal for when you reach the top. There are some bugs but we did not need to use spray.

Easy beautiful trail, not very steep but not super flat either. Really pretty view when you get to the top! There’s actually a little story to go along with the trail so that’s fun.

This has always been one of my favorite trails to hike when I don’t have a lot of time and need some time alone. It takes 5 min to hike up. Cell service the whole time Incase you need it. After the most recent storm we just had its a wreck with all of the trees down. But the view at the top is worth it.

Easy hike. Great views of the lake. trailhead is confusing. There are informational signs and following those isn't the same trail as the app. The app has you following a trail, but theres no trailhead marker. The trails connect forming a loop.

Had a fun weekend with Camping Women of the Sierra Foothills group. Bass lake was beautiful and this was 1 hike that had the most awesome view of the lake. We also took an easy walk to the Dam.

A short hike, slightly uphill but easy to navigate (even for our 7 year old). Great views at the top on the rocks. The trail was well marked with interesting facts about the trees and such, even pointing out the poison oak (which was visible but avoidable and easy to identify from the info given). Took us about 45 minutes, including stopping for pictures and a snack/water break.

Very nice hike! Went a bit beyond the .5 mile(?) to see the views of the other end of the lake from a higher level. Very smokey from Ferguson fires. Will definitely go back when smoke clears for better viewing. Got in and back before noon to try to beat heat. Will take my kayak next time since lake access just across from parking area.

The first few hundred feet seem like it is going to be a steep haul up but it levels out soon and becomes more gradual. informative markers along the way, a trickling stream through the rocks and great views. there are some burnt trees from several years back that do scar the otherwise beautiful landscape . The hike is short so we went another 1/4 mile past and further up for a higher view point .. overall easy and very good
