Great trail with gorgeous views, but hiker beware there is a sign posted regarding mountain lion sitings in the area.

Gorgeous area, wide variety of things to see. A great workout with inclines and declines

Excellent trail. The views to the lake are outstanding and it's easy, but not too easy. There are a couple of places where trees fell in the trail, but it doesn't interfere with the walk.

Great views and a decent walk. There were a number of fallen trees in the way of the trial and the actual trail will not loop back from where you started but a mile down the road (it is actually more like 4.6 miles in total) so I would not recommend this for smaller children since you are walking on edge of a road with cars for the end of the hike.

Beautiful trail with views of creeks and Shasta Lake. A few downed trees made it difficult with the baby in the pack, but it was doable. We somehow went the wrong way and ended up on a road that had the trailhead sign, but we hike up the road a bit and found our car. I'd definitely do it again!

This was a great trail but there were a few areas where trees have fallen which made it difficult to get around when carrying a baby in an outdoor pack. I would recommend not doing trial along if you have small kids.

I like this trail. The views are wonderful. There's a lot to explore and it's easy to hike even with our baby in the carrier. There were a few trees that had fallen unto the trail and with baby it was a little hard to get around. I'm hoping they get cleaned up soon. The last part of the trail is going along the road so be careful when you have kids or pets with you.

Beautiful scenery! Took us about 2 and a half hours. Lots of views of the lake. Take plenty of water. On a summer day, some of the sunny spots can be pretty hot.
