I’d definitely recommend this trail, it’s just enough hike to get your day started not too long or too short!! The trail could get narrow here and there but that isn’t a problem!! It’s shaded the whole time as well!! Overall beautiful hike!! It could get hard to maintain social distancing but everyone is aware and polite about it. (:

Very nice trail and excellent view at the top! I’m a heavy hiker and this is one of my go-to local hikes. Very doable!

Great shaded trail with some mild up and downhills. The redwoods are scenic. We enjoyed our walk with our dog and definitely would take her here again from time to time.

Moderate people traffic, very uphill to get to the lookout, lots of nice changes in habitat evergreen to chaparelle etc. Took dog, she liked it too!

Great trail. This was our first time hiking with our 5 and 6 year olds. Probably not the best idea for first timer kids, but they survived with little complaints. Slightly steep, though negligible, and the view at the top is completely worth it! We were on the Lookout trail for the most part. Didn’t see any waterfalls unfortunately even though it was raining

Great hike for kids and/or pets. Nice easy climbs and descents. Lots of shade and tree cover. The view at the top is beautiful. Family friendly hike! Be sure to get a free map as this app does not show all the trails.

One of my favourite hiking spots in the Bay Area. Short and nice with some shade

All uphill at first to get to the lookout point, but after that obviously all downhill. Great hike with kids lots to explore around the villa and gardens after a hike. I’m not sure if it was because of New Years but the trashes were overfilled. Nice drive around the neighborhoods today.

Nicely shaded trail. It was a little muddy when we went but nothing slippery. The small hills were nice. Overall a beautiful little hike.

I would recommend this trail to anyone. I had so much fun and if you are adventurous this is the trail for you.

Excellent trail for intermediate trail runners and great for beginners who want an uphill challenge but it’s very doable and well worth the workout! Once you get in about half mile, beautiful redwoods apear from nowhere! Fully shaded and an amazing view of Silicon Valley at the lookout but the best part of this trail is on your way down where you’ll find yourself ducking through trees and hopping over logs and it looks like during the winter/spring it probably has some epic waterfalls/runoffs too! Highly recommend this trail for your daily dose of outdoor therapy!

Dusty trail during the summer due to dry ground. The lookout point is not covered and can be really hot during summer weather. Able to see the whole view of San Jose and surrounding area of Silicon Valley. A little elevation around 400feet. Easily less than an hour to an hour 30min hike for a quick loop. Parked the car at Lot 1. Walk our way up, just a quick walk to the Great Lawn in front of the villa to parking lot 4 and started the trail there. Finish up by exiting near parking lot 1. Saw a couple of deer near Orchard Trail. The only turn off, somehow there lots of flies today. Just buzzing next to your ear. Overall a good quick hike for Labor Day weekend. There were sighting warning about mountain lion. Just be careful, don’t go alone. Bring water as may be quite hot. Dog on leash is allowed

beautiful forest

Good easy trail to take a stroll with the dogs. No waterfall or stream in the summer months. If there’s a waterfall it’s very small. We did this in August and it was ok. There are some cool art galleries nearby. Good hike to take parents or kids on, but being an avid hiker, I wouldn’t do it again for the nature awe factor.

I did the lookout point trail and back to the parking lot, rather than the loop. The up and back was almost 1.6 miles so it's hard to believe that the lookout and loop is supposed to be 1.6 miles. Anyways, the trail was beautiful with lots of foliage. Bring bug spray, as there are lots of mosquitoes.

Very hot. The lookout point has no shade. The trail is quite ordinary.

This trail was extremely relaxing. The scenery was beautiful and the view at the top is very nice. One of the trails even had a creek that we could sit by and relax. In total highly recommend this trail.
