Great drive. Did it in my stock grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 with all terrain tires. Scraped once or twice on the way back but nothing bad. Spot to camp at the lookout up top, but it gets a bit windy up there.

Off Road DrivingGreat!Rocky

A short, fun OHV trail with some incredible views from the abandoned fire tower at the top. As others have stated, the drive is pretty easy until you near the top where there are a lot of loose and sharp rocks that really require and offroad vehicle.

There is a large junction 3 mile in with room to park 3 to 4 cars. I think almost any car can make it there. It saves some of the tedious hike along the dirt road. It also leave time to climb Ladybug Peak in addition to Verdi.

i drove up the trail because it was late in the day. i was probably the first stock series II discovery to make it to the verdi peak lookout tower in a long long time. views are perfect. trail is rocky but all terrain tires did the job

This was a challenge. We hiked to Lady Bug Peak and also did this one. Trail is consistently uphill and a lot of off-roading vehicles. Great views and very little snow. We packed extra layers because the wind at the top was fierce.

There is so much to see out on these roads. Great isolated camping, and many areas to stop and walk around in nature. Not many designated trails for hiking, but a beautiful trip none the less!

Hit deep snow about 4 miles in, before was only mud and little snow patches.. We parked beginning of the road due to water and no high clearance vehicle,so total ended up being about 15 miles. Snow was packed enough to walk on early morning but on the way back snowshoes would of helped. But loved the view from the fire tower, plenty of good views all around too. Would definitely do this again.

Off Road Driving

Trail is easily accessible by most high clearance AWD vehicles up till about 2/3’s up when proper tires and 4WD would be necessary. Mainly soft sand and rocky trails. Great views from the abandoned fire watch tower at the top!

Tons of fun. Ran the trail two weeks ago, a couple spots required 4-low and some attention to placement. Zero issues with 4” lift and 35’s.

My stock JKU made it to the top with zero problems. I needed to put it in 4WD twice. Trail is extremely rocky and there's one section that's washed out that requires you to drive up a steep bypass that's made up of soft dirt that could be tricky if you don't know what you're doing. You're going to need some real wheel clearance to avoid trouble. The view from the lookout is amazing.

Great local area hike, challenging but not crazy, great views and like Ladybug Peak the opportunity to snag 3 peaks in a day is great. Trail is basically Ladybug peak trail (Forest Route 72 to Verdi Peak Road) except you take the right hand path once in the saddle between the 2 peaks. This trail has regular Dirtbike and ATV traffic as well as 4x4 use. At the end is the cool old fire watch tower and 360 degree views of Nevada and the Sierra in CA.
