This is not an easy trail. It covers some of the steepest terrain in Garland Ranch. Leave from the de Los Hellechos trailhead off Esquiline Road. Laureles trail goes up a steep section to a beautiful meadow. From there, the Vasquez trail continues to the top. Don’t let the short mileage fool you. You will feel this one. Stunning 360 degree views from the top make it worth your while. Monterey Bay, Fremont Peak, Pinyon Peak, and a wide swath of the Los Padres in view. Wildflowers in Spring and early Summer. A gem.

The starting point is the very private residence of the Merv Griffin Estate. Good luck getting in!
