Inside the park gate is a white line painted across the road. Parking is free north of the white line, located 0.2 miles away from the trailhead. A parking fee is required south of the white line. An alternate direction is to enter from Vanalden Avenue by exiting from the Ventura Freeway onto Tampa Avenue. Drive one block south to Ventura Boulevard. Up to about half ways through the trail it's pretty easy if you start going clockwise with a wide dirt trail. Then you start going off the main road into a narrow trail that's overgrown with some pretty steep descends towards the caves. The caves are pretty cool to look around and snap some pictures. Then the trail continues by going above and over the caves up through some really overgrown narrow path. The trail was just okay for me, the caves were pretty cool.

Awesome trail! Beautiful views, but very overgrown. Missed the part of the trail that takes you to the caves, and of course the caves themselves have graffiti all over (people suck). Definitely a workout for a beginner like me!

Super cool cave. Easy trail but it’s really overgrown and hard to find the trail head. Watch out for snakes and bugs. Bring lots of water and wear long pants!

I took the easy trail to the caves through the parking closest to the caves. it was much easier on a hot day with kids, too much overgrown so be careful and way too much trash at the caves. Really hate people trashing and tagging up nature

Not the best of trails for anyone. Most of the trail is a fire road, wide and open. You share this with mountain bike riders so be alert, not all have bells on their bike. You detpur off the road to a narrow path, down hill with very broken dirt and rocks. The trail is overgrown and mid way down, a tree and branches cover the path. Not suitable for large dogs. We turned around because of the conditions and returned to the main road.

I loved this trail so much. The trail is overgrown but I had so much fun. I scrambled over some rocks slid down some super sandy Andy slippery parts. Some trash left behind by other hikers, but it was so cool to find and experience.

Not bad of a trail it’s just a mission to get to the cave because there is no real trail for it. You basically have to go through all the bushes and trees. Not that but but I recommend wearing pants the bushes will scratch you.

Most of trail is wide open with no shade. If you take the loop down to the cave, I would recommend going down the second entrance (and back up). The first way down is just too overgrown.

Great trail. Be careful not to miss side trail to cave. Can be a little tricky navigating without gps or map.
