this trail is not closed. The fence frames the spillway, and if the water is high the fence does block you... however if the water is truly that high you don't need to cross it anyway. the trail was decent for most of the way, then turns into what looks like a service/access road. At my stopping point it was very over grown- I didn't wear long pants, so I turned around. still a nice 2 mile stroll. no mosquitos but cute dragon flies. and beetles. Birds are out and active, water is nice and lots of fish jumping.

We easily found the "trail head" (Uvas Dam marker) and walked across the dam, but there is no way to get across the spillway at the end of the dam. It is completely fenced and blocked. There was no access to the walk along the edge of the water as indicated on this trail map.

Had no problem finding the trail head or accessing the trail. It starts roadside at a gate that's next to the plaque describing the dam. Very flat, great views of surrounding hills, valley, and reservoir.

There was no trail head or markings on where the trail started and no way to get across the spillway. Total bust.
