Did this trail on 5/27/18, could only get part way because of the snow up on the mountain. Still really enjoyed and the views were gorgeous.

Great views on the way up with both Lava Tube and Seven Lakes Point for rest stops. It gets really windy at the top and there were a couple of areas where I got nervous about the narrow trail/cliff edges. Alternate option down is to loop around the Seven Lakes Trail.

6 mile out and back hike up to the top of Mammoth Mountain. Small snow patch at 10,000 feet that is easily traversed around. The Seven Lakes Point is beautiful although there is a lot of loose rock and scree that blocks the trail in many places. You can scramble over the loose rock to the trail. This section of the trail has some exposure. So be aware if you are sensitive to heights. Great adventure. Don't miss seeing the Lava Tube.

Views are extraordinary. Not sure what it takes for a "hard" distinction - 2500 vertical feet in 3 miles seems hard. Sliding down through a section of snow towards the top was a little tricky. Trail well marked. 6 miles round trip from trailhead to Gondola tower.

Amazing trail. at the top continue on to the top of the Mammoth Mountain to make it a greater challenge. Best part was the young buck leading us up the trail

Amazing views of the Lakes Basin! It was toward the end of July and there was a giant snowbank that had to be crossed.

Lost the trail a little towards the start due to snow still on the ground, but amazing views along the way!!

The first time I took this trail I got lost as the trail was not clearly marked due to fallen trees and whatnot. I had to turn around and make my way back down as I couldn't find the correct trail. The second time I tried the trail, it was much more clear and I was able to make it to the top. It was a fun trail both times regardless of being lost. The views during the hike are gorgeous and, once at the top, it's a beautiful scene to behold! I absolutely love this trail and it's never crowded which is another plus!

Nice little hike with a very nice reward at the top with great views for miles. Starts from back side of twin lakes just a few hours round trip.

A really fun hike/trail run to majestic views all along the Dragon's Back up to Seven Lakes Point. Many additional trails off to Mammoth Mountain & out lying trails dropping down into Devils Postpile North or Mammoth Crest & Deer Lakes South.
