UCSC Upper Campus Trail is a 6.3 mile loop trail located near Santa Cruz, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
This is primarily a mountain bike trail. Most bikers were polite, but the grooves at the beginning of the narrow trail made for a difficult start. Watch the map contours and avoid straight slopes as bikers tend to go fast, making it difficult to step out of the way. The scenery is amazing and there are not as many hikers as you see at Henry Cowell.
large stretches of the trail are cleared for fire safety and make the correct direction very hard to judge. 9/20/2020
Mountain biking with kids. Single track with June Jumps, kids loved it
It seemed like it was going to be longer than 6.5 miles so I turned around! Lol. Those hills are challenging and full of self doubt! Ha. Great workout. Will finish next time!
What an awesome hike! You'd only be able to follow this trail with the app tracking your progress unless you're an absolute expert navigator. Walking along the mountain bike trails was really cool. We walked out on the right side trails until the airborne/sidewinder juncture and back along the opposite side. Tons of cool mushrooms and beautiful redwoods. It was a bit muddy though and steep at parts, so beware.
