This is a very popular trail with limited parking at the trailhead. After the first mile, there are several trails you can take up into the hills if you wish to extend your hike. Trails may periodically close due to weather conditions. Please check with the park for more information before visiting: http://www.habitatauthority.org/

Use this trail fairly regularly due to ease of access. Pretty easy trail with moments of steep incline which are a good change of pace and great workout. Great view once you reach the water tower. Only knock is the lack of shade.

Love this trail! It’s about 2 miles up with a dirt trail and moderate inclines. Great way to get a sweat on. Not much shade so take a hat or some shades. The views at the top worth it, I promise. My sister and I also did the rattlesnake trail at the top to the left and once again, another amazing view! You can see LA! For the parking, you have to park about half a mile away in the residential area. I’ve gone about twice this month and both times not overly packed. The earlier the better, per usual.

it's open, bring plenty of water, constant flow of people walking, a few baby rattle snakes (it's their home so be nice) and give each other space.

The view is totally worth it so long as you go on a low-smog day.... which quite frankly boils down to luck. Parking during the week is good, can get a bit hectic on the weekends though. The parking for a vast majority of the areas nearby is Restricted to Residents and as a result you must have a permit. The hike is quite steep for the first part, afterwards it gets much better. There are a large number of route options once you begin, if you're a beginner I recommend that you stick to the routes with less elevation. This will be obvious by the way the route looks, although the steeper routes will get you to your destination a lot more quickly, they will just as easily wear you out if you haven't built up enough hiking endurance. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The place opens at 9am and closes at 5pm the first 6 months of the year. Make sure you are out of there before 5pm otherwise you will receive a parking ticket and your car may be locked inside of the area.

Don’t bother driving here because you need a permit unless you Uber here or park 10 miles away. Waste of time.

Good workout, nice steady incline

The hike itself was good, it’s definitely more intense than moderate. It has a very high incline. It’s good if you wanna break a sweat and get a workout. The parking situation sucks, it’s small and you can’t park on the streets because you need a permit.

I think this trail is a little more difficult then moderate. I love it for the reason that it is great cardio and mostly inclined in the beginning and to the end. Ends at the water tower and does not loop. perfect for a quick and challenging hike.

Can’t beat the views on this trail whether the views are looking down from the canyon or the foliage that’s around, depending on the season. The last super bloom the Canyon was a beautiful bright yellow for miles to see. Steep in some areas. The trail is pretty well established so you do not have to worry about getting lost. Is a frequent hiking spot for many so you will see many on the trail.

Love this trail. My go to spot. Very challenging cardio workout. Alternate routes for easier climb. Best when the weather is on the cooler side. Great views from the very top. Does not open until 9am. Bring water and good shoes. Small parking lot is always full. You have to park down the street to avoid getting ticketed but the walk to the trailhead and back is a good warm up and cool down .

A great trail with steep inclines at times but finding parking can be difficult.
