Tips

As of September 2020, trails in this area are closed due to wildfire. See park page for more information. Please note: Roads in this area are subjected to closure based on wet weather or fire danger. Please consult the park's website before visiting: https://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/cleveland/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5340229 This is an almost all uphill climb from the Tucker wildlife sanctuary to the springs. The hike can be strenuous due to the incline. The spring is seasonal and a little hard to get to. The views on the way up are amazing. The trail is a fire road with no shade.

There is no shade so if it is warm take a lot of water (3-6 liters).

Beautiful hike! Thankfully the day we went there was overcast all morning so we avoided the sun. There is no shade at all on this trail and there was no spring when we went (but that was probably since its the dry season) There were a lot of flys the higher we got on the trail and some of them bite so bring bug spray. Overall great views easy parking and a nice steady incline the whole time! Next time maybe we will go all the way to Modjeska Peak! The only thing that makes this trail hard is its length.

Beautiful moderate trail, not a hard. The entire trails have a quite wide road. Mountain bikers are not bothering. If you want shade, then start as early as possible. The trail swings around hills, and when the sun is low, there are a lot of shaded sides.

Nice moderate truck trail with constant elevation gain. Path to spring is very overgrown - see picture - and you may want to skip. Otherwise a great little hike!

If you ever get a chance to take this don't take the Tucker chair at the beginning of the Tucker trail you turn left and go down to the Creek and follow the Creek up Hill It is extremely hard and unmarked That is covered by trees boast of the way but still gets hot and lots of poison oaker but the water crossing and the waterholes are extremely full with all the rain we've had being an unmarked trail means you enter at your own risk but for me and others like me it is well worth Lots of hard claiming

The trail isn’t even a hiking trail, its an offroad trail. I couldn’t even tell it was a spring when I reached it. It was completely dry, and not worth it at all. I ended up hiking up another 3 mi or so to find a nice view
