Great single track and saw about 5 people while we hiked with the pup. The closer we got to Phoenix Lake, more people and noises so we stayed away the main path to enjoy the silence and water. Great for winter, but I’d expect summer would be a mosquito heaven.

A lovely trail with lots of little waterfalls along the way. This time I took the Bill Williams trail on the way back to get a bit of a loop rather than totally out & back. The Bill Williams trail runs along the other side of the creek and has several wooden bridges. The whole thing overall was a relatively untrafficked hike even on a pretty Saturday. You will want good hiking shoes for a couple of stream crossings and steep sections. It took me a little over 2 hours, including some short breaks.

I've been wanting to do this trail for a while and today was the perfect opportunity. We hit the trail around 9:30 on a glorious spring day and hiked the Tucker Trail until it tied in with the fire road, continued over to Pilot Knob for a stunning, panoramic view, and then turned around and came back. Bill Williams Creek was flowing fast with a lot of small waterfalls -- we could hear the water down below from where we parked on Phoenix Road! A lot of wildflowers are just now coming out, including wild iris, hound's tongue, triliums, milkmaids, etc. There is some poison oak alongside the trial, particularly at the beginning, and there is a bit of elevation climb as well. Most of this trail is in deep shade, so it's a good one even on a warm day!

Nice quiet hike. It begins with a slow and steady decline through grasses, and meanders into the forest. Know that much of the path is quite narrow, and at times right against steep drop offs. The path can get quite slippery with the dry mud and exposed rock. Other than that, a great woodsy option for a steady hike with some inclines and declines.

Loved this hike/nature walk! There’s limited parking on the residential street at the trailhead. Gorgeous view of the mountains at the start, then a steep decline into the valley where it gets shadier. The trail goes along the creek and there’s a very pretty waterfall at one point. We did about 2.8 miles total which took an hour and a half. Very nice scenery, will definitely return!

Good views at the start and finish. Start at Crown Road trail head. Best to expand the hike by looping around Phoenix Lake, then back up to Crown Road.
