Was an easy walk with paved trail. Was a good starter walk to get vacationers acclimated to the altitude.
The Truckee River Bike Trail is a nice casual walking path. It does get warm in the late morning in July. There are many cycllists on the path so make sure you follow the rules.
The trail is right next to the highway. Good views of the river. Lots of biking traffic. Maybe best just to bike it.
Enjoyed this ride when I was a Truckee resident. Used to ride it couple times a week for training, from Tahoe City into Truckee.
Tip: don't recommend biking this in the month of November, unless you are packing some heavier gear to keep warm. I made that mistake once... was quite a bit warmer near Lake Tahoe and got colder as I neared Truckee. Burrr!
We have enjoyed this scenic path following the contours of the Truckee River on several occassions. Great spots along the way for picnicing, swimming, wildlife, wildflowers. Family friendly.
