Your not allowed to mountain bike on portions of this trail. There is also a lot of poison oak in the lower elevations

Topanga State Park - Trippet Ranch opens 8:am and costs $10. Started 8:am Wednesday 18 Dec 2018 counter clockwise- perfect for more shade first 2 loops that disappears in afternoon. Views of Eagle Rock then Cathedral Rock at The Hub Junction. Felt like 80F by 10:am. Drank 3 liters of water, and ate breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Total moving time 5.5 hours for 13 mi (see below modified better shaded route) I’ve done this hike twice. First time followed prescribed trail. Last Loop has section infested with snakes (can hear them -loud ) and some sections in bad condition. So Second time skipped last Loop, and to have more shade, less people, went back via Garapito Trail (not fire road and no bikes allowed) that goes to Eagle Rock. Then follow AllTrails path back to Trippet Ranch via Musch Trail . Will definitely do that instead of going back via fire road from now on. Recommend modified Garapito Trail route, starting early, lots of water and food. Great views of mountains, ocean, flora , and fauna (deer, coyotes)
